Halloween 2009
Start date October 2009
End date November 2009
Reoccuring No

During Halloween 2009, The Candy Man showed up.

The Candy Man was an evil NPC. Randomly, every time a player talked to him, instead of the quest itself, a trick would be played on the player instead. See the Tricks section.

He would offer player candies, only to tell them that too bad for the player - He wanted them all!

After this crash start in Candy Man's personality, assuming the player was not victim of an evil prank yet, the Candy Man would ask for help and promise info. If you clapped loudly, as to insult him - Well, you can guess he would taunt the player and kill them.

Otherwise, he would ask some candy for a ... party, that he was going to attend that night; And that he did not had enough candy to everyone.

It was required 50 Candy, 50 Chocolate Bar, 50 Caramel Apple and ~60 Lollipop of any kind.

He would ten reward the player with a Skull Mask and 12,000 experience points.

Then he would say that was not fun and kill the player anyway.

The PVP Event

After player supplied the candies, he could ask the Candy Man if he was sure he already got his candy. He would say he had more, if they could do something amusing...

...And obviously, he found utterly delightful to watch people running around and killing each other. If the player killed enough worthy opponents in an amusing manner, they could get something... special.

Regardless if the player accepted or not, the Candy Man would say that he wasn't asking, and player would be teleported forcefully to the PVP Arena.

When you kill someone, the kill would be worthy only if your level was the same or smaller than the victim. A boring kill could lower your score, while a worthy kill would increase it.

You had to kill six players. After this, you would get 15.000 experience and be called to pick their reward.

The reward was 20,000 exp and 20,000 GP. After this, they would get a treat. Did I said treat? I meant trick. And in this case, he would spawn a random number of JackOs, depending on how may players already gave him candies.

Tricks

The Candy Man could play a few tricks on the player.

  • He could warp the player to Graveyard, to visit "some of his friends".
  • He could unequip up to two random equipment pieces, saying that player misplaced something
  • He could send the player to cool off in Nivalis.
  • He could make the char naked and point out ask if the player was feeling breezy.
  • He could cast magic and change the player hair to something random.
  • He could ask if the player was still there, and then warp the player to the Snake Pit.

Trivia

If the player was named xxMOIKANOXX, Candyman would get mad for they buying up all the candy before the event. The player was lurking in the IRC channel to obtain privileged information about the event beforehand.

As such, the Candyman would kill the player and taunt them with a random message.
