Kirin was born consecrated to the spirit Gen, and has lived her long life under the constant guidance of the spirit of Mana. For this reason, she reflects the traits of vitality, wisdom, and hope. She is normally a carefree soul, though the light of deep thought and philosophy glows behind each word and gesture she makes. Her primary duty as the sage of Life is to instruct humans in the way of life in consistancy with nature. For this reason, she sends them on quests that improve the world by giving back to the environment, caring for its creatures, and defending it from those who would take advantage of it. To those who gain a true understanding of the principles of balance and rebirth, she grants the power of Gen, the spirit of Life.
Kirin is married with eight children, which serve as priests in the temple of Mana (part of her duty as the sage of Life is to bear a certain number of children in her own lifetime). Each of these serves as her attendants and as priests and priestesses in the temple of mana, tending to the Tree of Life. Each of her 8 children are aligned with one of the 8 elements, and also serve to instruct players on the balance between their elements and the world as a whole. They are also instrumental in the quests assigned by other temples. At her heart Kirin is indeed a family person, and tries to balance her duties as a sage against those to her husband and children.
Kirin was born from the Tree of Life when the Age of the Gods ended and the original sage of mana gave her life to seal mana from the destructive humans. Along with her was born a boy she came to call brother. This man, [ZaxDekagen], is supposedly alive in the mana world somewhere, though all traces of him have been lost. Though she has lived under the oppressive duties of a sage for her entire life, Kirin has developed a profound appreciation for the mundane affairs of life. She is kind and understanding, even lighthearted at times. Her most striking characteristic is the wonder with which she observes all life around her, paying as much attention to the needs and cares of the growing grass as to any human visitor.
