The better starter weapon due to its damage output of 5 and Range 3.
If you decide to be a warrior or mage there will be a time when other weapons will be more efficient, otherwise go with the Sling Shot until you receive a Bow.
You will need to sell items to Shop NPCs in order to have enough money to buy Sling Bullets.
