Tyfren is the hard-working guard captain of (town); he is honest and respected by almost everyone. He has been in the city guard longer than most, but he's still in good shape; he still catches most bandits and thieves himself. He likes to arm-wrestle the other guardsmen, and it is said that he has never lost... All in all, he's a hardy and cheery person, slow to anger and quick to forgive.

He is quite skilled at armed combat, his favourites being long polearm weapons such as glaives and naginatas. He doesn't like teaching fighting-skills to others, though, as he opts for nonviolent methods himself, subduing bandits if he can. Bloodletting, let alone killing, is something he only does in the most dire of situations.

He enjoys body-building and other forms of excercise, but sometimes he just likes to relax in his backyard orchard filled with various kinds of fruit trees. He likes citrus fruits so much, that most of his trees bear oranges or lemons. He sometimes sells his fruits if he gets a good harvest, but usually all the fruits end up as strong homemade juice, made by Tyfren's wife Amanda.

He is particularly fond of a spicy variety of chicken curry, generously made for him by Adhiz Membasharos, who owns the local curry restaurant, "The Golden Curry", in (town). Tyfren is a regular customer at Adhiz' place, so he gets discounts now and then. The local saying "like trying to steal curry from Tyfren" means something's impossible to do - and yes, Tyfren does have a healthy appetite...
