Most of the server ideas on this wiki are currently meant for development of an initial monolithic server (a "short term" plan). This page goes into more detail about long term plans for the server. The long term server plans are:

• Higher capacity by being distributed over several machines in multiple cooperating applications.
• Higher availability by using redundancy.
• Based on high level library, ICE, for inter-server communication.
