The Evil Obelisk is a NPC that summons various mobs, depending on how much money you pay it. It is located north of Hurnscald, before entering the Northern Mine go east and look for another cave entrance. East of this cave you will see the Evil Obelisk.
What to do
Talk to the Evil Obelisk and you will see the following dialogue, including a menu in which you can choose, whether you want to pay it money:
"A mystical aura surrounds this stone. It seems to crave money.
- Pay it 200,000 gold
- Pay it 100,000 gold
- Pay it 75,000 gold
- Pay it 50,000 gold
- Pay it 25,000 gold
- Don't pay it anything."
Before you decide to pay it, have a look at what it will spawn:
- 200,000 GP for 1-2 Jack Os
- 100,000 GP for 1-2 Fallens or Zombies
- 75,000 GP for 1-2 Skelettons or Lady Skelettons
- 50,000 GP for 1-4 Poison Skulls or Fire Skulls
- 25,000 GP for 1-4 Grass Snakes, Mountain Snakes, Snakes or Cave Snakes
Hint
The prices are very high and not worth it. You better go to the graveyard if you want to fight Fallens, Zombies, Skelettons and Lady Skelettons. A Poison Skull and a Fire Skull can both be found close to the entrance of the Northern Mine, right next to the cave where the Evil Obelisk is located. Snakes are also in the Northern Mine, just go left after entering it and if you continue going left and exit through the left way out, you will also find Grass Snakes. Before paying 25,000 GP to have a chance to see Mountain Snakes, you better use the ferry for 1,000 GP to travel to Tulimshar and go south west through the desert to the Desert Mountains, where many Mountain Snakes live.
