You can view frame rate in the debug window (F10 by default).

Improving performance

• Close all unneeded in-game windows (chat, minimap, items, etc.)
• Try turning openGL on or off
  • When your performance is better without OpenGL update the video card drivers of your system
• Turn off the custom cursor
• Turn off ambient effects
• Set particle detail to low or off
• Set the color depth of your desktop to 16 bit

Performance chart

Here is a list of systems and the respective framerate with TMW. Feel free to add a line of your own, add comments if you like or necessary. We need especially more data about FPS on lower end machines, and it would also be nice to see changes in framerate on the same machine with different versions of TMW.
