Constructed atop the ruins of the once-great Triton city of Seratera, Port Town is a flourishing urban atmosphere of constant growth. The docks are alive and vigorous with activity. The port supplies all of the surrounding areas, such as Trade City and Hurnscald, which in turn supply most of Argaes.

History Since the Quake

(for history before the Quake, see: User:John Pyle/History of Man: Before the Quake#The Tritons)

Very few Tritons survived the Quake. Most who survived sought to rebuild their under sea city of Cerulea, but some remained topside to reconstruct the port in hopes of returning life to the ways of the past. So few in numbers, when assistance was offered by Sabborus Keshlam of Tonori, the Tritons accepted. Year 38

Workers arrived along with a protective military presence. Most opted to stay, delighting in the weather, the work, and the Triton's cultural influence on architecture and lifestyle. It wasn't long before people began to arrive in droves as news of Argaes's beauty traveled east. The Tonori plains were quickly fading into a desert, the farms ceasing to provide; and word of Argaes's beauty had traveled to the desert, as well as Tempus to the north. This period was called the Talponian-Gispaan migration to Argeas. Tulimshar might have been nearly abandoned had Keshlam's people not discovered crystals in the Gispaan mountains. Year 46-50

Modern History

As the number of people on Argaes grew, so did Keshlam's influence abroad. Tal Tempus Keshlam took over the reign of his father, who had become bedridden with age. That same year, Tal Keshlam announced that Port City was to be annexed by his growing empire. Many of the locals, who had idealized Port Town as a 'free city', disagreed with Keshlam's intentions, as did the Tritons who still understood the city to be their own Seratera (despite the lackluster interest of their undersea brethren). Still, there were many Talponians who loved Keshlam's father and believed only good would come from the union. Year 55

Keshlam's visions of empire have not grown to fruition, though, since the return of Wayne Tanner II pushed the cities of Keshlam's kingdom into a devastatingly vicious civil war. The tension between the imperialists and the locals of Port Town remains strong, as many believe the end of the Keshlam Civil War will come with renewed interest in imperial take over of the city.
