This is the wiki version of [Essential Warrior Stats Mana-ual] converted by User:Livio. Its content is reported here as it's written by Marius.

NOTE: after a bunch of text, the actual listing of stats by level and function starts. If you want to skip ahead, be my guest!

These stats are meant for "warriors only". My aim is to provide the most efficient (fastest) stats so the warrior can make best time in leveling up a new alternate (alt) character. Also, the stats are not necessarily the best for new players because they mostly assume a fully armored alt from level 1, and that the player has many items in storage from which to draw for quickly completing quests for experience points (exp) and money (GP).

This is the work of many year's experiences and remains a work in progress. I am only attempting to provide the best of what I currently have. I am constantly updating stats as I find better combinations for specific purposes. If you are not an experienced warrior, then these stats, even the older, not the best I can do stats, are probably better than what you could come up with on your own. They reflect years of experience, up close and personal, with every monster, from a warrior perspective. So, you can trust my judgement as a good starting point for your own warrior stats.

I will include my best tips and rules-of-thumb to help others better understand how the many stats interact with each other, and how the best balance between them may be found for the warrior. I have NOT rummaged through the source code to find how the calculations are actually made, and the stats are used. This document is a result of over a decade of playing "The Mana World" (TMW), experimenting with combinations, and researching performance using the somewhat useful "kill stats". This reflects my own style of play - I don't like to hit slowly as it bores me, even if hitting more slowly is actually more time-efficient - I have to ENJOY playing to stay interested, don't I? You may have a different style of playing TMW. I do not have full use of my hands due to medical reasons, so lots of moving around and key presses is harder for me. As a result, I tend to play more conservatively, with better health and protection, which reduces how fast and hard I can hit. This is why I play almost exclusively as a warrior, instead of archer, or mage. I do include some more aggressive stats as well.

I do not claim that these are the "best" stats by any means. If you find better, let all of us benefit by replying below (NO flame wars, please. Only polite sharing of your experiences with stats. No two people are going to agree on what is "best". It is a somewhat personal thing with stats). I do claim that these stats are reasonable for the given purposes, and will not totally disappoint you if used. Use these as a basis for modification based on your purpose, style of play, and equipment you have to use.

In the higher levels, I have pushed hit speed and strength as high as possible, at the expense of health. When archers or mages come to battle with me, they tend to think I am a "tank" and can withstand many monsters attacking me simultaneously. This is not usually the case, which inevitably leads to my death. In solitary play, I carefully pick off one monster at a time, with the ability to withstand two, and momentarily three, but no more. Since archers and mages are in constant motion, they easily attract a large mob of beasties, which they are accustomed to fighting, but which, unfortunately, leads to my downfall. This is something archers and mages should be aware of when fighting with warriors - let the warrior attract the monsters they are able to fight reasonably (yes, this takes some patience, which archers/mages do not always possess - they usually just want to "get on with it"). The exception is when a warrior is purposely built as a "tank", in which case they have great health, and can withstand a number of monsters at the same time without dying. A tank sacrifices the ability to hit really hard and fast, for the sake of staying alive to aid others. They do this by attracting the monsters that are not currently being attacked by archers or mages. Sometimes they will also chase, and then hold (by attacking) an errant monster in one place so the archers and mages spend less time running to keep their distance.

These stats are not set up for a tank warrior, they are for the fastest possible leveling for a solitary warrior. If I include any tank stats, they will be marked as such (yes, I have not actually done the editing of my stats, yet).

I will not say much about quests other than a few comments. The stats themselves are more than enough for one post!

Here is my take on the major stats. The text is mostly taken from the TMW web site, to which I have added a few clarifications, to help myself understand their individual functions and interactions better:

EXTENDED STATS

(All my own understanding. I found nothing to explain what they mean on the TMW site)

Attack Raised by STR, plus the base damage of the individual weapon.
Defense Raised by VIT, plus the defense of your armor.
Magical Attack only mages care about this, and I am NOT one (mostly).
Magical Defense see previous ^^^
% Accuracy DEX adds to accuracy, which reduces the amount of misses you make, BUT misses are

also affected by your level! You can raise DEX to maximum, but you will still miss if your level is too low, or the general defense of the monster (monster's level, LUCK, and DEX) you are fighting is very high. It is tempting to raise DEX to prevent misses, but you may be disappointed when the misses do not go away. I have found that DEX greater than 65 does not provide much additional improvement, and is a waste of good points.

% Evade Raised by AGI. Affects how well you can avoid being hit by monsters (monster misses).
% Critical Raise by LUCK, and less by DEX. Affects how many of YOUR hits to monsters are

critical hits. A "critical" hit has the value of the "Attack" extended stat.  % Critical has nothing to with how many critical hits you receive - THAT depends on the "monster's" % critical hits, level, DEX, LUCK, etc.

Attack Delay Lowered by AGI, affected by Speed Skill. Affects how fast you hit - the lower, the better.
Walk Delay Lowered by AGI, affected by Speed Skill. Affects how fast you walk - the lower, the better.
Damage per second (DPS) this is an ESTIMATE of how much average damage you will do to some

"normalized" monster per second. It gives a decent idea of the worth of a specific set of stats, but only for no skill, or the Speed skill. Its usefulness is reduced if Raging skill is used. The "damage" per second is NOT the same as EXP per second. Damage affects how fast you will kill monsters, but the EXP you receive is totally seperate, affected solely by the monster being killed. How much "average" damage you do to monsters is affected by your level, weapon, type of monster, stats, etc.

STR

Affects how hard your weapon hits; modified by various factors such as bull helmet, individual monster stats, the base damage and speed of the specific weapon, and the randomness inherent in each individual hit.
Affects your ability to carry weight.
Each point adds 30 to carrying capacity (weight capacity)
Each point adds 1 to Attack (Max hit and critical hit value)
Each 10 points adds a bonus to Attack (Max hit and critical hit value)
(Attack only applies to melee weapon hit strength, not missile weapons?)
Each 5 points adds 1 to the base damage of any missile weapon (bow, slingshot)
STR missile weapon bonus every 5 points.
STR melee (warrior) weapon bonus every 10 points.
STR needs to be at least 70 (NOT 69+1) for Bull Helmet

AGI

Raises attack speed (always), and walk speed (speed skill only).
Reduces the hits received (increases how often a monster misses the warrior),
Each point adds 1 to flee/evade (misses, %evade?).
Each point adds 1 to attack speed (how fast hits happen, always at a constant rate given the level, equipment, and stat choices by reducing attack delay)
Attack speed is affected by the attack speed of the weapon used.
Attack speed and walk speed also affected by Speed Skill.
AGI should be as high as possible for attack speed and evading monster hits
AGI bonus every 5 points? NO, I don't think so, but...who knows?

VIT

Affects your total ability to withstand hits (raises max HP (Health Points))
Affects the rate at which you recover that ability after damage (HP recovery)
Affects your level of immunity/susceptibility to poison.
Each point adds 1% to max HP
Each point adds 1 to total Defense (reduces monster damage)
Each point increases the effect of healing items
Each 5 points either increases, or gives bonus to, HP recovery rate.
(not sure if recovery rate is affected by each point, or only every 5 points)
IF (VIT + (LUCK/3)) is 97 or greater, you are immune to poison.
VIT bonus every 5 points.
VIT needs to be at least 50 (NOT 49+1) for Bull Helmet

INT

Only affects magical abilities, except for certain potion-making warrior-related activities.
A warrior MAY want to raise INT temporarily when brewing healing potions or Monster Oil with Caul, or for certain other quests. This information can be found in the text related to individual quests on the TMW web site.

DEX

Reduces misses made by you when attacking monsters
Raises the base damage of all weapons
Raises the speed of weapons, which affects total attack speed
Raises the %critical hit rate made against monsters
Raises melee weapon (%accuracy), minimum damage per hit, up to the attack value of the melee weapon used.

Each point adds 1 to the minimum damage (%accuracy?) up to the attack value of the melee weapon. I am not sure what this means - I only see it adding to % Accuracy.

Each point adds to the attack speed, affected by the weapon attack speed (missile weapons only?)
Each point adds something to the chance of making a critical hit on a monster (%critical).
Each 10 points adds a bonus for missile weapons. There are certain cases where a warrior may want to use a bow - without actually stating as an archer.
Each 5 points adds 1 to the base damage of melee (warrior) weapons.

DEX bonus every 5 points.
Speed Skill: aim for DEX of at least 50 to avoid too many misses from lowering your killing effectiveness.
Raging Skill: aim for DEX of at least 40. I use DEX 45, sometimes 50 for added smoothness and efficiency, when I can afford the points.

LUCK

Each point raises the chance of making a critical hit on a monster (% Critical),
Each point reduces the chance of receiving a critical hit,
Each point increases the chance of a "lucky" dodge (in addition to % Evade misses),
Each 5 points adds 1 to the base damage of any weapon.
IF (VIT + (LUCK/3)) is 97 or greater, you are immune to poison.

LUCK bonus every 5 points.
LUCK should be at least 50 to avoid critical hits from Lady Skeletons (and all lower monsters),
63 to avoid most (65 better, or 66 for ALL) critical hits from Skeletons and Wights, and 70 or
even 75 to avoid "most", but never ALL, critical hits from Red Bones.
LUCK needs to be at least 50 (NOT 49+1) for Bull Helmet

STATUS POINTS TABLE

This shows how each of the stats individually affect the extended stats.
Stats start at all 1's (STR, AGI, VIT, DEX, INT, LUCK) and remain at their most recent level, with only one stat changed at a time, and the results tabulated. Test uses warrior armor and setzer, without extra point items like rings, terranite legs, etc, at lvl 80:

This is what effect stats (mod 1, 5, or 10) have. Stats on a mod 5 (5, 10, 15,...), or mod 10 boundary (10, 20, 30,...) include all the changes that the same stat causes at the mods below it, and the line in the table only shows the additional changes due to THAT boundary ONLY. For example, AGI 30 resides on a mod 1, 5, AND 10 boundary, and so will include the changes on the AGI +10 line, plus those on the AGI +5 line, plus those on the AGI +1 line. Also, for example, the DEX +1 line shows changes which occur EVERY time you increase DEX by one. This table shows the changes ONLY for melee (warrior) weapons.

RULES-OF-THUMB

IF there are LOTS of misses, it pays to add 5 to DEX to get better performance, RATHER than putting those points on AGI.

Look to Damage per Second (DPS) to help gage when to raise STR by 10, and reduce AGI accordingly. I have found that when AGI is 10 or more points greater than STR, it may be time to change. This is for Speed Skill only! Raging works better the other way around, with STR greater than AGI until the slowness of hits affects total damage, and it becomes time to focus on AGI ("possibly" reducing STR by 10, depending on the situation).

Candied Slimes

Candied Slimes need 30 LUCK for no critical hits, but 25 is sufficient. DEX of 40 at lvl 53 gets rid of most misses, so I recommend a DEX of at least 35 to get anywhere reasonably, without TOO many misses. I have found that VIT 20 makes easy work, but VIT 15 with healing items allows faster killing.

Lady Skeletons and Drunken Lady Skeletons

Need to be about lvl 60 before you can kill them without great difficulty.
Need Luck min 40 with critical hits, 45 for less, and 50 to get them gone.
Recommend min 40 VIT. Recommend min DEX 40, 45 is better but just have to level up to get rid of some of the misses. You will never get rid of them ALL no matter what you do.

Crypt Level 3 (Red Bones and Wights)

There are 2 basic routes to take. First, you should be at least 85 to make it worthwhile, and I use Speed Skill only until level 90. You can go with either STR 60 to 80. Practically, you should have VIT at 60 or 70, but it is possible to do with as little as 50. With VIT at 60, LUCK at least 65+1 for Red Bones, 69+1 is better, and DEX at least 54+1, 49+1 seems too low to me for Speed Skill, then the rest in AGI. It is debatable if DEX beyond about 57 is worth sacrificing AGI or not. AGI adds more quickly to total exp/min than critical hits (Speed Skill only), but a critical hit % of 45 smooths out the consistency, especially with lower-level monsters, and monsters that are really hard to hit.

Jack-O

40 VIT is not enough to survive, even with chicken legs, at lvl 65.
Probably need to be around lvl 70 at least, to effectively kill Jack.

LUCK

For Candied Slimes, Sea Slimes and less, LUCK 30 is sufficient. Actually, Scorpions, Snakes, and Spiders are OK to kill with LUCK at 30.

Red Bones: Those nasty creeps! You can either set LUCK to 75 and get rid of "most" critical hits, allowing you to reduce VIT to "around" 50 (Speed) or 65 (Raging), OR you can raise VIT to 75, and keep LUCK at 70. At lvl 99, I set LUCK to 70 AND VIT to 50, for Raging Skill. But keep in mind that at lvl 99, I am killing them fast enough to vastly limit my exposure to all hits, thus reducing the chance I will get a critical (if they can only hit you half as often, then you will get a critical half as often, EXCEPT, the harder/faster you hit them, the angrier they get, and hit you harder anyway). Also, at lvl 99, I have extra VIT added due to the level itself, that I did not have in the lower lvl 90's. That's how I get away with using VIT 50 with the Raging Skill.

SIMPLE ROADMAP

For levels 1 through 60, progress through maggots, scorpions, fire goblin, spiky mushroom/fluffy, yellow slime, red slime, sea slime, spider, black scorpion, snake, and candied slime.

From about level 45 through level 60-something, killing Candied Slimes will allow the warrior to level-up the fastest.

From about level 65 to level 80, killing Lady Skeletons will allow the warrior to level-up most quickly. You might want to up your LUCK to 64+ and add Skeletons as well, BUT using the lower LUCK of 50 allows more points for STR and AGI. Also, Wights can be killed fine with LUCK at 50 with occasional critical hits (but NOT Red Bones)!

From about level 80 to level 85, you can segregate the Wights from the Red Bones and Skeletons, and just kill the Wights for the fastest leveling at these levels.

From about level 85+, the best leveling for a solitary warrior (not battling with others or doiung quests like Candor, etc.) is Red Bones and Wights in Crypt level 3 (lowest).

I have wished for a better way to get to level 99, for eons, but there is no better way.
Jack'Os would help a little, but there is now only ONE (or two, is you pay for them), and that one has such a long respawn time as to make it usless for leveling up.

At level 35, get general "Focusing Skill" from Luca in Tulimshar! Sometime between levels 15-40, make SURE you "Hunt the Fluffies" in preparation for the Raging Skill. If you don't do it early, it only gets harder and harder. In the 90's, it is virtually impossible to do it, due to Yetis (only with GREAT help can it be done).

This should take you through to level 60. Then get setzer ASAP. Get Speed Skill ASAP. Do other quests as you see fit.

NOTE: This is important! After you get the "Focusing Skill", you will be tempted to start allocating skill points towards one of the skills you have obtained (like Raging)...DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is important to save those skill points to use at Level 60, when you IMMEDIATELY get the "Speed Skill". You can then use whatever skill points you have earned to raise the "Speed Skill" to level 2-3, however high you can. Make sure you go to Luca after getting the Speed Skill, and "focus" on that skill. For a warrior, trying to use the Raging Skill at any level below 85+, is a waste...the Speed Skill is the MOST useful skill for the warrior, until you reach levels beyond 85. I do not use Raging until level 90 myself. I say this, even though I have included stats at lower levels, which use the Raging Skill. The only other skill you MIGHT consider at lower levels is the "Resist Poison" skill, but I still highly recommend saving all your earned skill points until level 60, and use all of them to raise the Speed Skill. Sometime around level 60, you can start to kill Lady Skeletons for more EXP. This will allow you to quickly earn skill points at a high rate, because each kill will give you 957 Job Points, which go towards earning skill points. That is more Job points than anything else the warrior can kill at levels up to about 80+. Spiders also earn decent job points as well.

CLASSES OF MONSTERS/STATS

There are (at the higher levels) surprisingly few classes of monsters which require different stats to kill efficiently. I have my own classification system, of course.

MEAN MONSTERS

Those monsters which tax your health because they hit HARD! Some of these are hard to hit as well. Some cause a lot of misses, reducing your productivity. Others, suffer very little damage per hit compared to the other monsters. Both of these cases can be helped greatly by using the Raging Skill, but only at the higher (lvl 85+) levels. Raging also taxes the health of the player making stats hard to balance. These monsters include Yeti, Terranite, Zombie, Fallen, Jack'O, Skulls, Mouboo, Spiders, etc. To kill them, you need high health and defense, good dexterity (less with Raging), but not too high LUCK (max 50 unless you are purposely trying to increase your critical hit rate). Unfortunately, this does not leave many stat points left to hit hard and fast.

SNEAKY MONSTERS

These monsters are not too difficult to hit, or to damage, and do not USUALLY hit back too hard. However, these monsters require higher LUCK because they tend to make a lot of critical hits on you. Their critical hits are HARD when they occur. They include Red Bones, Wights, all Skeletons, Mogguns, Scorpions, All Snakes, Slimes, etc. Speed Skill or Raging Skill may be used with these monsters. They require better LUCK, but medium health and medium hitting power and speed to kill efficiently.

EASY MONSTERS

Well, they are easy to hit, easy to kill, and don't hit back hard with few, or no, critical hits to you. Bash away!

The various classes of warrior stats do not come into play mostly until you reach the upper levels. Of course, there may be special stats optimized for certain quests, especially Illia Quest, Hunt the Hungry Fluffies, Speed Skill Quest, Brewing Monster Oil or healing potions, and others. I used to spend lots of GP on restatting all the time, so I could level-up as fast as possible, but then I realized that many of these stats were so similar that I really only needed a few different ones to cover all cases, and do it efficiently, and productively (fastest possible leveling).

The most general class is my "Do-it-All Stats". These are meant to allow me to roam around anywhere, and kill anything, without ever needing to restat. Of course, since they are not optimized for any specific case, they will not provide the most efficient or productive results that are possible. What they WILL do, however, is kill anything "reasonably", or "adequately" well.

Another class I use often is my "All Graveyard" stats. They allow me to kill Red Bones and anything else that is found in the Graveyuard or Crypt, EXCEPT, not as good for Skulls, or best for Zombies and Fallens, but can be used as long as you are a little careful with your health. Also, this does not include the "Crypt Boss Quests", although I believe these stats might do just fine for them as well. The main reason this is it's own class, is that a warrior will spend hours and hours killing Red Bones and Wights, since they provide the fastest possible EXP per minute available to the solitary warrior.

Both of these classes use LUCK of 70 to avoid most of the critical hits from Red Bones. The main difference is that the Do-it-All stats have higher VIT of 75 to achieve poison immunity when killing Snakes, Scorpions, Poison Skulls, etc. This high of VIT is generally not necessary for Graveyard work, which is more optimized for better hitting power and speed.

Sometimes I use "All Skeletons" as a special class...but note that the "Only Wights" special class is essentially the same thing - they are interchangeable.

My "Bash Mean Mobs" or "Mean Monsters" stats are designed with the highest health for killing Mean Monsters. These are the stats I use for Yetis and Terranites mostly, but also work for the other "Mean" monsters as well. No other class of monsters requires as high VIT to comfortably kill without croaking (dying, biting the dust, expiring suddenly) regularly.

At the lower levels, mostly the "General" class of stats will work well for the monsters which can reasonably be killed at that level. The lowest levels are "Balanced", meaning that after keeping INT at 1 for warriors, all remaining stat points are pretty equally distributed over the remaining stats.

The final major class of stats is for "Fast Money" by killing Red/Yellow Slimes, Spiders, Snakes, and Scorpions for equipment which can be sold for GP. By eliminating most all other monsters, the stat points can be optimized for fastest killing of these money-making monsters. I do not usually use these stats because I have found that the Do-it-All Stats work well enough for me to farm lower-level monsters quickly enough. I hate to spend GP on restatting unless I intend to make money for an extended period of time. Since these stats use a LUCK of 50, I can also kill Lady Skeletons, and many other monsters as well. The main difference is the lower health (VIT) I sacrificed to hit with speed and power. These stats work well with either the Speed or Raging Skills, although I have separate stats for each skill, for each stat class.

NOTE: Critical hits from Green and Mountain Snakes and above monsters. NOT immune from poison!!!

Stats for levels 1 through roughly 39

If you always keep INT at 1, keep all the rest pretty equal and you will do fine. I call these the "balanced" stats. It does not take long to get through these levels, especially if you also go for the "basic" magical skills (the easy ones) and have the items available to help Auldsbel with experiments (quick exp and leveling).
