Total List of Playerset Actions
This list was last updated 2010-07-26 for the "1.5" version.
Things marked as [FIN] could still be improved before equipment work starts.
Most Important:
- [FIN] Stand
- [FIN] Walk
- [REQ] Sitting (Needs better pose for female.)
- [FIN] Stabbing with a dagger.
- [REQ] Stabbing with a javelin
- [WIP] One handed sword swing suitable for a shield
- [WIP] Two handed sword swing
- [FIN] Archery
- [WIP] Spell casting/invocation/chanting
- [FIN] Dead frame
Lower Priority:
- [WIP] Polearm swing/stab
- [REQ]Firearms/crossbows
- [REQ] Horizontal swings
- [REQ] Idle animations
- [REQ] Sleeping
- [REQ] Battle stance
- [REQ] Run
Mechanics and Layering
There are 5 head frames: North, South, East, West, and Death.
Playerset sprites are divided into these layers: [*]
- Eyes
- Head
- Upper Body (torso and arms)
- Lower Body (underwear and legs)
Mirroring is used.
An XML Flip-H and Flip-V tag would eliminate the need for mirrored frames, thereby reducing sheet size.

An XML tag could also help make hair fit helmets.
No such fix is implemented as of 2010-038.
Known Flaws
The playerset is not at a 45 degree angle.
The sit frame is bad.
What About a Class System?
The Mana World Development Team has repeatedly rejected a class system:
