From The Mana World
(Added swamp village image)
(er, erased everything, put a bit about me.)
Line 1: Line 1:
Here we are then. I only discovered TMW about four days ago and already it's my favourite MMO and among my favourite computer games. And I'm really interested in developing it, and I've got plenty of ideas, some of which people may like and some of which they may not.
'''Me'''
So first of all, I believe the Skill system is really well done, how you can put up any of your stats is cool. But what has the Basic Skill got to do with anything? I read somewhere there wasn't going to be another Skill, ever, so why have this Basic Skill and no others?

Swamp village:
Just and image of a swamp village that I'm making with tiled, still needs a lot of work.

'''Ideas'''
Must go! Later.

I dislike the Magic System but it's not really anything to do with me. Just so anyone reading this can know, my idea of magic was quite different.

It worked like this.

== Scrolls ==
Scrolls are (I use the present tense merely for the ease of writing) small sheets of paper containing a Spell. Once a scroll is used, it dissolves and cannot be used again. However, the Lesser Scrolls are quite common, perhaps having a 10 or 20% drop rate from Monsters or else costing about 50 - 100 gp each. (Mana World money needs a name!) Scrolls are divided into three categories: the Lesser Scrolls, the Scrolls of Power and the Arcana Major. (Yes, yes, like the Tarot Cards)

Lesser Scrolls as mentioned have a drop rate of 10 or 20%, the Scrolls of Power have a drop rate of 5 or 10% and the Arcana Major .2 or .5%.

'''Using Scrolls:'''

The player has a Spellbook window. The Spellbook window shows to tables - the player's collection of Scrolls and the contents of the Spellbook. The former has unlimited slots (but as the Scrolls are in the Inventory also, he cannot hold unlimited Scrolls) but the Spellbook has only ten, assigned Shortcuts of the player's choice (they might be q, w, e, r, t, y, u, i, o, and p, for example) and when a Scroll is dragged into the Spellbook the player is able to cast it on the selected Monster by pressing the assigned key for that Spell. Now, when a Scroll is used it burns, but you may have ten, twenty, or maybe fifty of one Scroll, and all of these fit into the same Spellbook slot. When all of a particular Scroll is used up, a little message says, eg, 'You've run out of Topsy-Turvy Scrolls!' and the Spellbook has an empty slot.

'''Example Scrolls:'''

The Lesser Scrolls would mainly be weak little things, eg

Magic Arrow: (which all good RPGs have) Attack +20, Range 6 has Lightning Power. Lightning Power means that if a line of Monsters are all touching each other, all of them will be hurt. This can be dangerous because if you're level 20, you don't want to zap a Spiky Mushroom hurt a Mouboo, too. They get cross.

Spark of Power: Attack +25, Range 3, Lightning Power,

Etc.
