Like other creatures, Man does not have a singular form. There are currently ten distinct races known to the world, but in the beginning, there were only four. We'll call these four original races "Pure-bloods"..
PURE-BLOODS
Long ago, the Gods accidentally created these races from their relative element. Though a lot has changed since then, each of the four Gods still retains some favor for the race they created.
Tritan
These fishy folk usually live beneath the waves, many of them in Ancea's capital city and its surrounding area. Tritan between the ages of 16-29 normally live abroad, as this is the customary age-range which they devote to travel and exploration. Some return home sooner than others, while a rare few are occasionally coaxed to settle down on dry land. This is why you see Tritan all over the world, but won't often find a permanent Tritan household unless you travel underwater. Also, if you happen to visit the Tritan capital city, you might notice an abundance of children and elderly, with a striking lack of young-adults.
The Tritan Empire developed from a blend of aquatic hunter/gatherer cultures and today, have managed to retain a handful of their fundamentals. Hunting is the primary staple of their society, while agriculture (in terms of crops and farming) tends to be largely ignored. Though they are omnivores, a typical Tritan's diet consists of mostly small sea creatures with a very small amount of wild sea vegetation. Unlike other races, the Tritan's eating habits often exclude foreign foods, even considering delicacies. Most of the food they eat, comes from the sea.
The elders are the leaders of the Tritan culture; they are the disciplinarians, teachers and the caregivers. The children on the other hand, are the hunters and gatherers; childhood for a normal Tritan consists of keeping food in stock and listening to stories, told by the elders. Before the Tritan Empire helped to form the nation of Ancea, there was no such thing as a conventional school. Even now, the only actual school that you can find underwater is a branch of the World Academy.
Sparron
The area which the Sparron call home used to be a wide stretch of mountains and canyons, dotted with light woodlands. After the Crystal of Air shattered, all of that beautiful land separated from the continent and floated up in to the sky. Most Sparron decided to continue living there; a bit of wind and some heights never hurt a winged-person, after all. Most Sparron don't begin to grow wings until puberty, but once they start to come in, they tend to receive a lot of attention and care. Any self-respecting Sparron prides their wings above most other things.
Sparron sometimes seem a bit more self-righteous and boastful than the rest of Mankind, but such egotism is simply a product of their society. Individually, each Sparron believes itself to be the most beautiful and VERY rarely offers compliments to others, for any reason. To Sparron, who can not imagine doling out such pleasantries, compliments are often believed to be sarcastic and impolite. It has been like this as long as anyone can remember. Any person who understands this aspect of Sparron culture is usually able to put up with it, well enough at least, to make a friend out of a Sparron.
The Sparron are generally quite beautiful though, spotted with colorful feathers. It is simply their conceited attitude that drives others away; they're usually tough to hold a meaningful conversation with, but they're very easy on the eyes. Sparron women are the uncontested beauties of the world and are pursued by males of other races, just as often as Sparron males. Females usually don't have beaks, which is seen as a masculine trait; males on the other hand, often do not have talons, which is seen as a feminine trait.

Ifriton
These people have been calling the volcanic desert, "home" since it was a jungle. Though today, Ifriton can be found all over the world, most live in Tonori, primarily at the base of its largest volcano in a kingdom called "Gispaa"
Talpan
Deep within the mountainous landscape of Gasaro lies the kingdom of Redstone, home of the Talpan people. They thrive here above all others, because they're built for life in the underground. Talpan are usually involved in large-scale digging and mining operations, to benefit from their keen sense of stability; any normal Talpan can feel a tunnel's impending collapse, long before it happens. Because of that, foremen tend to be experienced Talpan engineers. However, if Talpan are doing all of the digging, the tunnels are rarely substandard.
...
Talpan are as tough as a pile of stones, and as steady as the turning of the earth. The Talpan culture values consistancy and stability. These beings tend to look at the world from a predominantly practical point of view. Where some people would spend their lives pursuing beauty, travel, or adventure a Talpan would be much more content at home, living out his life with his close family. These being rarely venture very far from their homes unless they absolutely must. This isn't to say that you'll never meet a Talpan abroad, but it will explain why unless you get near their lands, you'll very likely only meet a few in your lifetime.
Other races tend to view the Talpan as very down to earth. They are slow to pass judgment, and far slower to act on it, but when they decide to do something they are nearly unstoppable. The Talpan are considered by most to be rather plain in the department of looks. Their skin is usually a dull Grey earth tone, and their eyes tend to be very dark. Talpan tend towards simple hair styles and manners of dress. They are usually easy to talk to, as they are very good listeners, typically being willing to sit and listen to another person talk for hours on end, only speaking if asked a question or otherwise prompted to speak. The Talpan tend to be trim and muscular, due to their practical lifestyles. They are perfectly happy doing manual labor, and most of them do it often.
HALF-BREEDS
At some point during ancient times, the Gods began to lose interest in their creations. During this period in time, the Gods slept, leaving Man to fend for itself. Without strict guidance, Man began to crossbreed, eventually paving the way for half-breeds.
Orelon
Don't let their craggy exterior fool you, these people aren't rock-monsters. Most of their skin is covered by an ever growing rock-metal composite; Ore. Unfortunately for them, the ore that a typical Orelon body produces contains incomparably superb metallic qualities. Dead Orelon had been prized items for years, but by the time poaching became obvious, modern governments had begun taking shape; the problem was dealt rather effectively. In most civilized areas, it's legal to possess and trade the ore of a dead Orelon, but it's assumed that the Orelon died of natural causes and you obtained it somehow afterward. In truth.. and a lot of folks don't know this, so keep it a secret.. the ore from a dead Orelon, which is the most common, is actually a diminished form of something much more magical. It's said that the ore from a living Orelon contains the finest metallic qualities in the world. Obtaining this ore as a gift is a huge honor, because they're literally giving you a piece of themselves.
Orelon are the second-most abundant race of man in the underground, next to Talpan, of course.
Demon
Demons are a race of Mankind that calls the volcanoes and firey depths of the earth home. The Demon is very similar to the Sparron in anatomy, on the inside at least. They have black skin and a more lizard-like body than the Sparron, along with black, leathery, bat-like wings, giving them a much more evil appearance. Don't let their looks fool you, they not a thouroughly evil race, and can coexist peacefully with other races. The criminals of Demon society make up most of the Demon population on the surface (being exiled), thus giving Demons a bad name.
Human
The latest derivative to have emerged from mankind's gene-pool is the Human race. Humans are comprised of two opposite elements: Water and Fire. I guess that makes them .. steam? .. whatever, we'll talk about it. They really started to pour out of Argaes at some point, though the first few Humans were probably born in Ancea and Tonori.
Gaian
With bodies of vines, Gaians are plant people. They are similar to humans but green and made of vines. Most Gaians prefer the forest, while a few tend to stray away and live out in the open in grasslands. They have long been stereotyped as strange due to their unusual appearance, but don't let prejudice fool you. Gaians are very social. They love to talk and love to travel in large groups.
Glacien
Bitter-cold as snow, the Glacien are a fascninating species. Their bodies are made of ice and are freezing cold. Their skin color is white with a blueish hue, the color of ice and snow. Although sometime social, most Glacien tend to work alone. They are rarely seen outside of their glacier home, as they get heatstroke easily
Raijen
The Raijen descended from the sky many, many years ago in bolts of lightning, being born from an crossbreeding of Sparron and Demon. They came from the sky, thinking that land would suit them better that the air. They have since adapted to life on land, and have lost their wings. They wield the awesome power of mighty lightning and deafening thunder. Their bodies are white with a greenish hue, the color of pure lightning. They may look fearsome, but Raijen are actually quite mannerly.
They have 5 Kingdoms: North, South, East, West and Central, the most important of all, because there it's all the food of Raijen territory. The life in the kingdoms it's not so good, they want to live again in freedom to walk were they want...but they have to defend the flanks of they territory of any invasion.
The Raijen live basically alone, without interference. When born, a Raijen its Educated with the 5 Codes of Honor, and then...its left behind by his family. To learn at survive by him self.
The 5 Codes of Honor are 5 basic rules of every Raijen:
- Every Raijen must have learned his Thunder-Control before of being left by his family.
- Every Raijen must be mannerly with all the another races.
- A Raijen must not have a camp out of one Raijen Kingdom.
- A Raijen must not give any knowledge of his Thunder-Control to another race.
- Any group of Raijens that want to establish an order, clan, camp, etc. must have permission of the Elders of Thundria.
